Wait, whaaat? Recognize what? Remember the song legalize it by Sean Paul, to the tune of that except spiralize! It is time to recognize that you can spiralize your veggies to make delicious, low carb, highly nutritious meals!
Spiralized zucchini is the new pasta.
I don’t always eat zuchinni but when I do my favourite is spiralizing those bad boys into ZOODLES! <3 It is so easy to do and such a quick way to create a healthy nutritious and delicious meal while incorporating a lot of veggies in my diet. #winning
There are many ways you can incorporate spiralized veggies depending on what you like and it is a clean way of eating!. . . A pasta dish, a noodles thai dish, adding them to a buddha bowl, even a salad and much much more!
If your feeling like spaghetti, spiralize zucchini and top with your fav pasta sauce and additional favourites. I made a “meaty” pasta sauce by adding lentils and topped with nutritional yeast.
So if you like cheese or cheeziness in your pasta you can add daiya cheese, nutritional yeast or even a cashew based parmesan.

Vegan Parmesan CheesePrint Recipe
- 3/4 cup (90 g) raw cashews
- 3 Tbsp (9 g) nutritional yeast
- 3/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Add all ingredients to a food processor and mix/pulse until a fine meal is achieved. Store in the refrigerator to keep fresh. Lasts for several weeks.
Now we are not limited to just spiralizing zucchini! there are many other veggies and even fruit you can spiralize. . .
- bell peppers
- sweet potatoe
- butternut squash
- melon (canteloupe/honeydew)
I made a delicious tofu zoodle buddha bowl and added sunshine to my dish by switching it up and using yellow zucchini this time!
I scrambled tofu cooked over some grapeseed oil and spices of choice with chopped white onion, cherry tomatoes and yellow zoodles. Cooked over medium heat for about 7-8 minutes. Started with just the tofu for the first 3 minutes then adding the veggies. Transferred to a bowl and topped off with a mango lime salsa, SUPREME!!!
There are many different types of spiralizers you can get big ones which tend to be more expensive or you can get inexpensive handheld ones like this one and it is easy to use! One side allows for thin spiralizing and the other for thick spiralizing.
